Art History for Children,
Maria Orosan-Telea
The introductory workshops in art history are designed around nine stories that are inspired by famous paintings. The children will get in touch with basic notions of art history because the stories contain real data: the name of the artists or characters, information regarding the period when they were made, the trend they belong to, or the stylistic characteristics. All these result from narrations or dialogues and will not be delivered in a didactic manner.
The reading session is followed by a workshop in which the children will draw the described
scene or a character they have retained from the story. At the end, we will organize a little exhibition with the children’s works and we’ll compare them with the picture that was the basis of the story
The author of the stories is Maria Orosan-Telea, an art historian and lecturer at the Facultty of Arts and Design in Timișoara, and Victor’s mother, a 6-year-old boy who, together with Lore Ilie, a graduate of the Graphics Department of the Faculty of Arts and Design in Timișoara and a teacher of fine arts, will sustain the creative workshop.
Introduction in Contemporary Art,
Mihai Zgondoiu
The introductory workshops in Contemporary Art are conceived around the Chronicles of Future Super Heroes exhibition – curator Anca Mihuleț, an exhibition currently open at Kunsthalle Bega, between October 02, 2021 and March 20, 2022.
The workshop participants will get in touch with basic notions of art history with reference to the contemporary practice and way of thinking in the last 50 years. The courses will contain a theoretical introduction of interactive reading, followed by creative exercises on various hand-made techniques such as: drawing, collage or stencil.
At the end of these workshops, we’ll organize an exhibition based on the creations of these participants and a printed fanZINE that will contain the whole process of these meetings.
The coordinator of these workshops is the independent artist and curator Mihai Zgondoiu, a lecturer at the West University, the Faculty of Arts and Design in Timișoara. The creative workshop is held with Andreea Băban, a graduate of the Graphics Department of the Faculty of Arts and Design in Timișoara, currently an MA student at the same faculty.
The Metakitchen and Stardust Architects Workshops
The Metakitchen is a spatial installation, part of the Chronicles of future superheroes exhibition, curated by Anca Verona Mihuleț, which takes place at Kunsthalle Bega, between October 2, 2021 and March 20, 2022.
The five practices, selected by the Stardust Architects team to be included in the Metakitchen installation, share the orientation towards the recovery of a craft, the approach of a certain material or some social and spatial practice that can constitute models for sustainability: the TERRApia workshop – a workshop of land architecture, the Tron workshop – the approach of natural textiles dyed with plants, the Historical Garden + Forgotten Herbs – projects meant to recover old varieties of vegetables and historical recipes, Culinaria – an experiment regarding the process of experimentation and Living Cities & The House in Hempcrete – a studio of architecture specialized in working with concrete-hemp.
The Metakitchen program involves activating part of the space through the practice of cooking together by sharing some knowledge and connecting it directly to a small-scale space of production such as a local community garden. Thus, between October 22, 21 and October 24, 2021, the five chefs will hold workshops consisting of two components, a part to present the practice of each, which will take place in the exhibition space, and a part to experiment with materials and obtain the samples, which will take place outdoors in the Greenfeel Ronaț community garden.
The Sculptures of the Future Superheroes,
Bogdan Rața
For each of us the superhero has another dimension and is embodied in something different. From a Marvel character to a pet, from an elder brother to a video game, the superhero word arouses different perspectives in our minds, especially in the minds of children. The Sculptures of the Future Superheroes workshop aims to discover these fantastic things and translate them into sculptures modelled by children in clay. Bogdan Rața, the author of the workshop, is an artist, University Lecturer at Faculty of Arts and Design Timișoara and co-founder of Kunsthalle Bega.
Me, My Emotions and Art,
Elena Aronoaie Adorian
First of all, art offers us a safe environment in which we express our feelings and communicate what we think to the world. Thus, through art we discover our inner world while we understand what happens in our heart. Starting from this truth, each little artist will use lines, forms and colors that will convey the emotion felt at the moment of creation. No matter what this emotion is, its communication by means of art will represent a therapy for the soul.
Elena Aronoaie-Adorian (b.1988, Timișoara) – is a visual artist, University Lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Design Timișoara.
